April 10, 2016 LEXINGTON, Ky. - Villanova assistant volleyball coach Amy Pauly has been named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association Thirty Under 30 list for 2016.
The 2009 Alabama graduate led the Crimson Tide to three straight NCAA Tournament appearance and is the all-time leader in career digs and digs in a season. After graduation, Pauly was a graduate assistant coach at South Carolina before joining the coaching staff at Villanova.
Pauly will be in her fifth season with the Wildcats during the 2016 campaign.
The AVCA Thirty Under 30 award was created in 2009 to honor up-and-coming coaching talent at all levels of the sport of volleyball. To qualify, nominees had to be 30 years old or younger in the 2015 season.
"When coaching development is what you do, few days are more gratifying than the one on which you announce the Thirty Under 30 awards," said AVCA Executive Director Kathy DeBoer. "The number and quality of nominees keeps going up and the diversity of places where we are seeing youthful excellence continues to expand. Our future is bright."
Of the thirty recipients, 12 are NCAA Division I coaches, six in high school/club, four in Division III, three are NCAA Division II and NAIA, and two are two-year college coaches. Pauly is the only recipient from the current schools in the BIG EAST conference.
