NEW YORK, N.Y. -

Sophomore Thomas Dodson was named the BIG EAST Men's Tennis Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.

Dodson helped the Wildcats achieve their second win of the season over Navy this past weekend. Competing in the No. 5 singles spot, Dodson played one of the longest match's against Navy's Andrey Majkic, winning 7-6 (7-3), 5-7, 6-3. His match point, clinched the win for Villanova. Earlier in play, Dodson was paired with freshman Tommy Mulflur who helped the Cats earn a doubles point with a 6-2 win at the No. 3 spot.

The Villanova men's tennis team travels to Southern California throughout the week long spring break trip. They will participate in the Pacific Coast Doubles and play a multiple of experienced California colleges.
