NEW YORK, N.Y. - Villanova senior Brette Lawrence was named the BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week, as announced in the conference's press release today. Senior Natalia Segovia was also recognized, and she earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.

Lawrence was dominant on the mound last week, as she went 5-0 with a 0.76 ERA. In Sunday's series finale against St. John's, Lawrence threw a perfect game, the first of her career. She joins Shannon Williams and Theresa Hornick as the only Villanova softball players to throw a perfect game.

Segovia also played a key role in Sunday's win. With the score tied 0-0 in the top of the third inning, Segovia hit a grand slam to put the Wildcats ahead 4-0. She became the 13^th Villanova softball player to hit a grand slam.

The Wildcats have now picked up 13 BIG EAST Conference weekly awards this season.
