Andy Butler Named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar

NORMAN, Okla. – Senior golfer Andy Butler (Oakmont, Pa) was named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar last week for the second time. To be eligible, the individual must be a junior or senior academically, while also competing in at least three full years at the collegiate level. The student-athlete must also participate in 50 percent of his team's competitive rounds, while also having a stroke average under 76.0 for the Division I level. The recipient must also maintain a cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2 while having high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
 
Butler did everything that was asked of him this previous season. He ranked sixth in the BIG EAST Conference with a stroke average of 73.58 in 2017-18. He also was tied for 10thindividually in the BIG EAST Championships which took place in late April and early May. These outstanding accomplishments led him to be named a second team All-BIG EAST selection.
 
Not only did Butler have an impact on the golf course, but he also was successful in the classroom. He majored in Mechanical Engineering with minors in Mathematics and Finance. He was a four-time selection to the BIG EAST All-Academic Team.
