Villanova, Pa. – Villanova baseball has announced its 2020 schedule. The Wildcats will play a 52-game regular season that features 18 home games at Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth Meeting.
The Wildcats will travel for warmer weather for the first 14 games of the season. The team opens up with its first-ever trip to Arizona for a three-game series against Arizona State February 14-16.
The following two trips will also be to warmer weather, with a three-game tournament hosted by Campbell University in Buies Creek, NC February 21-23. While there, the team will play against Maine, Campbell and Purdue.
The Wildcats will play in the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Florida for the ninth consecutive year. This year they'll face Northeastern, Eastern Michigan, St. Louis from March 1-3, and Western Michigan on March 4. The team then travels to Kissimmee, Florida for a three-game series against Bucknell.
The Wildcats return for the home-opener on Tuesday March 10 against NJIT and will play host to Coppin State that weekend for the first home series March 13-15.
Villanova then travels south one more time for a three-game set at NC A&T.
The Liberty Bell Classic continues this year, with the first matchup on March 24 against Lafayette, and another the following week against either Penn or La Salle.
BIG EAST action gets underway March 27 as Nova travels to take on Georgetown. Georgetown will be the first of five-straight conference weekends.
Villanova's first conference series at home will be St. John's from April 3-5. That is followed by a road trip to Seton Hall, for a double-header on Thursday, April 9 and the series finale on Saturday, breaking for Good Friday and Easter that weekend.
Villanova's longest home stand of the season will be eight games between April 14-26, beginning with a midweek matchup with La Salle, then hosting Butler, another midweek against FDU and hosting Creighton.
Two more non-conference series appear in early May, the first on the road at Michigan State May 1-3, and a home-and-home with Rutgers with the first two games in Piscataway, NJ and the third at Villanova Ballpark on April 10.
The Wildcats wrap up the regular season at Xavier from May 14-16.
The BIG EAST Tournament will be the following week from May 21-24 at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio.
