VILLANOVA, PA – For the 2021 Villanova volleyball season all fans, including Villanova students, faculty, and staff, will be required to wear masks at all home matches regardless of vaccination status. The Wildcats will open their season this weekend, August 27th and 28th, with three matches inside the Finneran Pavilion.
Concessions will be available at the matches and fans may only remove their masks while actively eating and drinking.
Villanova will open its season against nine-time national champions Stanford on Friday night at 7 p.m. The Cardinal won their most recent national championship in 2019 and is currently ranked 21st in the AVCA Division I Coaches Top 25 Preseason Women's Poll. Saturday will feature two matches, first against the Rider Broncs at 11 a.m., and wrap up against the Delaware Blue Hens at 6 p.m.
Graduate student Averi Salvador was named BIG EAST Libero of the Year last season and eared a spot on the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. Villanova was selected to finish fifth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll with 56 votes.
