Conshohocken, Pa. – To conclude their two game homestand, the Wildcats (2-2) hosted the VCU Rams (1-1). VCU came out on top, with a final score of 7-1. The Rams found the back of the goal just 3:02 into the first period and never looked back.

VCU would go on to tally two more goals in the first half, making the score 3-0 at halftime. Shortly after the break, VCU continued their attack with a quick goal, however this time Villanova was able to counter at the 39:53 mark. Jamie Pennington sent the ball in off a penalty corner to Emma Schwarz, who's shot was deflected in my Meghan Mitchell.

In goal for Villanova, Jordan McGinley was able to turn away six shots over three periods, while Emma Leppert saw action in the fourth quarter, saving three shots.

VCU finished the game with more shots (20 to 16), shots on goal (16 to 6) and penalty corners (7 to 3) than Villanova.

The Wildcats will return to action on Friday, 9/10, when they travel to Monmouth.
