Lewisburg, Pa.- In their first spring match of the year, Villanova was edged by Bucknell in a close 4-3 contest. Villanova's three points all came in singles wins at the No. 1, 4 and 6 positions.
The Bison began the match with three-straight doubles wins over Villanova.
In singles play, Annalise Klopfer outlasted Bucknell's Daniela Bellini at first singles in a three-set win 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Junior Amanda Rivera-Gonzalez had an impressive performance out of the No. 6 position with a win over Bucknell's Kate Novak 7-6, 6-2.
Junior Caitlin Fisher earned a win in just two sets from the No. 4 singles spot against Laurel Utterback 6-3, 6-4.
The Wildcats will head to Annapolis, Maryland to take on Navy on January 30.
