WILMINGTON, Del.- The Wildcats took one singles win but ultimately lost, 6-1, to Delaware in a Friday matinee.
The Blue Hens struck first by winning all three of their doubles matches against Villanova.
Despite a 2-6 first set loss,
Annalise Klopfer provided a gritty performance in singles play. The senior countered with a 7-5 second set win followed by a 6-1 third set victory against Eliza Askarova. Klopfer has now earned three-straight singles wins.
The Blue Hens earned singles wins the rest of the way to secure a 6-1 match win. The Wildcats drop to 0-3 while Delaware improves to 3-1.
Villanova returns to action Saturday, February 19 for a match at Temple.
