Princeton, N.J. – Villanova used a seven-goal effort in the second half to close out its time at the Princeton Invitational with an 11-8 win over Saint Francis at the Denunzio Pool on Sunday afternoon to close out the Princeton Invitational.

The win gave Villanova (2-5) a sweep of its contests on the final day of competition, going 2-1 at the Invitational. Senior Kaysie Stuba led all players with six goals, resetting her season-high for the year.

"Kaysie led the team with a huge game and a win," head coach Larry Sanders said. " She was poised and stepped up her game."

Villanova held a 4-2 advantage by the end of the first quarter thanks to a trio of goals from Stuba and another from junior Allie Hansen. Saint Francis (5-7) held the 'Cats scoreless in the second period, making it an even 4-4 contest at the half.

The sophomore duo of Stella Byles and Sydney Biachi opened the third with back-to-back goals in the first 30 seconds of play to give Villanova a 6-4 cushion before Stuba added on two more in a span of 21 seconds later in the frame. The Wildcats held a 8-6 lead heading into the fourth.

The Red Flash got within a pair twice during the final frame but Amelia Baca provided the final dagger with 1:15 left to give Villanova its final lead.
Byles joined Stuba as the only 'Cats to net multiple goals in the outing, scoring both of hers in the second half. The pair have had five and four multi-goal games this season, respectively.

Emese Szucs led the Red Flash with four goals.

Villanova hits the road for another invitational, this time heading to Mercyhurst's Curtis Robinette Memorial Invite. The 'Cats will face Salem and Mercyhurst on Feb. 19 before taking on McKendree and Gannon on Feb. 20.
