Box Score POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – Villanova overcame a three-goal deficit after halftime to defeat Siena, 13-12 on Saturday morning in the opening game of Marist's Courtney Fisher Invite.
With the win, Villanova (6-6) is now the owner of a four-game winning streak, it's longest stretch of wins since winning eight in a row in 2017. The 'Cats also snapped a three-game winning for Siena (3-5).
Villanova faced a 3-2 deficit through the opening frame before the Saints tacked on four more goals in the second quarter to make it a 7-4 game at the break. The second half was all Villanova.
In the third quarter, Villanova surged back with five goals, holding Siena to just a pair to even the score at seven all with one quarter left. The Wildcats held a 4-3 edge in the final frame to complete the comeback.
Stella Byles and
Emily Morrissey led the team with three goals each, both matching season highs. All-told, seven Wildcats found the back of the net in the game. Byles led the team in overall scoring with five points, adding on two assists.
Kaysie Stuba had a team-high three steals, marking the second game in a row which she has done so.

Villanova is back in the pool at 1 p.m. to face Salem.
