Massimino to be Inducted into Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame

Ceremony to take place on November 3

NEW YORK – Legendary Villanova Men's Basketball Head Coach Rollie Massimino will be inducted into the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame on Nov. 3, 2022.
 
"Coach Mass" led the Wildcats to 357 victories from 1973-92, including a stunning 66-64 victory over Georgetown on April 1, 1985, to give the program its first NCAA national championship. Massimino posted a 20-10 record in the NCAA Tournament while leading the Wildcats and helped lead the program into the BIG EAST Conference in 1980.
 
The Class of 2022 will be enshrined on Thursday, Nov. 3 at the Event Center at Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia.
 
In addition to Massimino the class of 2022 includes: David Akers (Football), Keith Allen (Hockey), Reds Bagnell (Football), Ed Bolden (Baseball), Adele Boyd (Field Hockey), Charles Cooper (Basketball), Howard Eskin (Legacy of Excellence), Susan Francia (Rowing), Dr. Nikki Franke (Fencing), Fredia Gibbs (Kickboxing), Bernard Hopkins (Boxing), Ray Kelly (Legacy of Excellence), Phil Martelli (Basketball), Art McNally (Football), Jimmy Rollins (Baseball) as well as the 1983 NBA Champion Philadelphia 76ers.
