LA JOLLA, Calif.- The Wildcats fell 5-2 to Butler in the last California road match of spring break.
Tighe Brunetti and
Trey Fourticq continue to be the standout performers for Villanova.

The match began with the Bulldogs taking No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to claim the first team point.

The only wins of the day to come from Villanova was from Brunetti and Fourticq in their respective singles matches. Brunetti dropped the first set 4-6 to Butler's Huete Vadillo but came back to take the 6-4 second set forcing a third set tie breaker which Brunetti claimed with ease (6-3). Fourticq was victorious in a close first set 7-5 and followed with a 6-3 win to take a point in favor of the Wildcats. Â

The Wildcats return to action on Tuesday March 14 at home to take on Nichols. Match time is set for 2:30 pm.
