VILLANOVA, Pa.- The Wildcats took on Saint Joseph's on Wednesday afternoon and came out victorious in a close 4-3 win over the Hawks.
 
The match began Saint Joseph's taking No. 1 and 3 doubles matches to claim the first team point of the match.
 
Josh Robinson kicked things off at No. 1 singles against Alejandro Vedri fell in a 6-1, 6-1 loss. In the No. 2 spot was Tighe Brunetti who faced off with Justus Agbo taking the first set 6-3 and the second 7-6 (5) after a tie breaker to secure the win. Cooper Gordon lost to Inigo Diaz 6-0, 1-0 at No. 3 singles. In the No. 4 spot, Ryan Nguyen beat out Nassim Fenjiro 6-1, 7-6 (5) result. Justin Suarez defeated Mark Rubin after losing the first set 2-6 coming back in the second set 6-2 and the third set tie breaker 6-2 in the No. 5 spot. Trey Fourticq bested Oscar Serra in a 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (1) decision at No. 6 singles.
 
Villanova took the 4-3 victory over Saint Joseph's.
 
The Wildcats return to action on Saturday April 15 when they face off with Georgetown at home. Match time is set for 12 pm.
