CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – Villanova took on No. 20 Boston College (BC) in a game two of the short series on Sunday May 14 at Harrington Village. The Wildcats took an early, short-lived lead in the top of the first, but the Eagles quickly took the lead away in the bottom of the inning and continued to build on their momentum. BC had a big bottom of the fifth to plate five runs and took a 12-3 win over the Wildcats in nine innings.

Craig Larsen held up the Villanova offense. The duo plated two of the three runs on the game with O'Reilly hitting a double and Larsen sending him home both in the top of the first and the top of the sixth. O'Reilly went 3-for-4 on the day with three doubles and two runs scored. Larsen went 2-for-5 on the day with a double, a triple and two RBI while crossing home once.
Villanova opened with a strong start against the nationally ranked Eagles with O'Reilly smacking a double to right center and Larsen bringing him home on an RBI single to right field for the 1-0 lead. The Wildcats held the Eagles off in the bottom of the inning.
The Eagles pitching staff gave the Wildcats a tough time at the plate holding Villanova scoreless from the second through the fifth innings. During those innings BC went to work on the scoreboard. In the bottom of the second they scored two on a single through the right side. In the third the Eagles took a 3-1 lead on a wild pitch. In the bottom of the fourth BC's Patrick Roche hit a two RBI double for the 5-1 result. A big fifth inning for the Eagles plated 5 runs on a RBI double, a RBI walk, a balk, and a sacrifice fly RBI for the 10-1 advantage.
The Wildcats battled back in the top of the sixth with the O'Reilly and Larsen duo almost replicating their scoring situation in the top of the first. O'Reilly smashed a double and this time Larsen crushed an RBI triple to score O'Reilly.

Boston College got a run across in the bottom of the seventh and another in the bottom of the eighth. The 'Cats had a quick top of the ninth but ultimately fell to the Eagles 12-3.
