VILLANOVA, Pa. – Villanova women's swimming and diving kicks off its 2024-25 season on Thursday, October 17
th against UConn. The meet will start with diving at 10:30 a.m. in the Villanova Swim Complex with swimming following directly after.
The last time these two sides went to battle was at the BIG EAST Championship this past March. Villanova won its 11
th consecutive conference title at the meet with a total score of 1482.5 points with UConn following closely at 1461.5 points.
Among the returning 'Cats to this year's roster are
Katie White and
Winnie Jalet, who both had first-place finishes in the head-to-head meet last year at UConn where Villanova left with a 154-146 victory. The Wildcats also had a first-place finish in the 200 Freestyle Relay at that meet from the team of
Lainey Quinones,
Molly Benson,
Alyssa McHale and
Lexi Elkovitch.
The last time the 'Cats and Huskies met on the Main Line was Oct. 15, 2022 with UConn taking a 180.5-119.5 win. Villanova has not won a home meet against the Huskies since a 179-119 win on Jan. 25, 2020.
