VILLANOVA, PA– Wildcats bats were not enough in their home opener as Saint Peter's won 5–2.
A pitching battle was on display at Villanova Ballpark today. Through the first four innings, only one run was scored which was from a throwing error that gave Villanova the 1-0 lead in the first. The Peacocks scored five unanswered runs before Villanova answered with one in the ninth. Pitching and defense were dominate on a cold, windy day in Plymouth Meeting.

- In his first start this season, Ryan Mintz pitched three scoreless innings allowing no hits and striking out three batters.
- Patrick Montfort came into the game in the sixth inning. Montfort pitched two innings allowing no runs, no hits and striking out four.

- In the eighth the Peacocks scored three runs off an RBI single from Garret Greg and a two-run RBI double by Ashby Vining, 5-1 Peacocks.
- Jack O'Reilly doubled to left center in the ninth inning, driving home Trent Toole, 5-2.
