VILLANOVA– Villanova hosts Butler for a weekend series at Villanova Ballpark. This will be The Wildcats Final series at home if the season, which will include senior day activities on Sunday. Game one is scheduled for Friday, May 10th at 3:00 pm. Game tow follows the next day, May 11th at 1:00 pm and Senior Day Sunday at Noon.

Last Time Out: Villanova defeated Iona on May 4th, 9-8 to take game two of their weekend series. The third game scheduled for Sunday was canceled due to rain.
Senior Day Festivities: The Wildcats will celebrate 15 seniors on Sunday. This group has contributed to Villanova with their play on the field and their academics. BIG EAST Brawl: Villanova and Butler have a close all time series record against one another. The Bulldogs hold the overall record at 15-12 over The Wildcats. Last year's series took place April 14-15 with Villanova taking all three games.
Hassert Honor Roll: Senior Cam Hassert was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for his performance over the past week. The team faced Saint Joseph's on Tuesday followed by two games over the weekend against Iona. The series finale set for Sunday against Iona was canceled due to the weather.
Hassert has been on a tear over the past week. Over three games Hassert went 5-14 (.357), with seven RBI and three home runs. On Friday against Iona, Hassert had two home runs and a four RBI day. The senior has hit a home run in three of the last four games.
Whooley Hitting: Sophomore
Michael Whooley is currently on a five-game hitting streak. The everyday starter went 3-5 with an RBI in Villanova's last game against Iona.
Breaking Down The Bulldogs
- Butler is 18-31 on the season and is coming off a 12-11 win over Eastern Illinois on Wednesday. As it currently stands, The Bulldogs are in last place in the BIG EAST and are two games behind Villanova.
- As a team, Butler ranks first in hits in the BIG EAST. A big part of that stat is the conference leader in hits, Carter Dorighi. The junior is batting .373 on the season with 16 doubles, three triples and six home runs. His 82 hits this season so far rank him fifth nationally. Dorighi is coming off a 4-5 game against Eastern Illinois.
- On the mound to start the series for Butler is graduate student, Tyler Banks. On the season Banks has a 8.28 ERA in 54.1 innings of work. His last outing came on May 3rd against Xavier. Banks when 4.1 innings allowing five hits and six runs.
