Villanova opened its fall schedule over the weekend with the Villanova Invitational. The three-day event brought faceoffs with NJIT, Delaware and Temple. Villanova picked up eight wins on the weekend with five coming from doubles action.
 On Friday the Wildcats hosted NJIT at the Villanova Tennis Complex.
Sophia Edwards and
Maggie Gehrig defeated Laura Wipfli and Irene Cocero 6-3.
Valieriia Kornieva and
Olivia Corcoran got the better of Petra Koszo and Riya Mathur 6-4.
Lauren Monti and
Jenna Stevens beat Shalom Salvi and Lusia Hepcal 6-1. It was also a great day in singles for the 'Cats as Gehrig, Kornieva and Corcoran came out on top in their individual matches.
On Saturday the Wildcats were away at Delaware. They were able to obtain a double win with duo Edwards and
Miriam Gondorova defeated Maryia Hrynashka and Paulina Jurkowska 6-3.
The Wildcats ended the weekend back at home against Temple. Edwards and Stevens picked p the teams lone win of the day taking down Kelly Richter and Nina Andreoni 6-2.
The team is back in action this weekend at the Navy Invite held in Annapolis, Md.
