Kerry Brings Home Second Consecutive MAAC Defensive Player of the Week Honor

The junior recorded 36 saves across four games; First player in program history to win consecutive weekly awards

EDISON, N.J. – For the second consecutive week to open the 2025 season, goalkeeper Gracin Kerry has been named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week for her performance at the Bruno Classic.

The junior is the first player in program history to win a MAAC weekly award in back-to-back weeks. She is the first Wildcat since current assistant coach Kaysie Stuba to earn a weekly award twice in a single season, when Stuba won MAAC Offensive Player of the Week on April 6 and April 20 of the 2022 season.

During the Bruno Classic, Kerry started all four games, playing 16 of the 18 quarters, including all six stanzas of the Wildcats double overtime thriller against the #24 University of the Pacific. She recorded 36 saves, six steals, and three assists across the weekend. Kerry tallied double-digit saves in two games in the event, including tying her season high with 15 against Brown.

She was part of a strong defensive presence that kept the Wildcats in the game against both ranked opponents in Brown and Pacific.

UP NEXT
The Wildcats will be traveling back up to New England next weekend to play in the Harvard Invitational hosted by Harvard University in Cambridge, Mass. On February 8, they will face off against the University of the Pacific at 9:00 A.M. and UC Santa Barbara at 5:10 P.M.
