Wildcats Win Three In A Row

ORLANDO, Fla - Villanova women's tennis expands their win streak to three, after taking down Marquette on Monday. The final score was 7-0.

The 'Cats had strong showings in both singles and doubles. The duo of Olivia Corcoran and Lauren Monti overcame the Golden Eagles' No.2 pairing, 6-2, while Jenna Stevens and Maddie Hills went 6-1 over No. 3.

Sophia Edwards competed in the No.1 spot and finished with a 6-0, 6-4 advantage. Corcoran battled No. 2 into the third set, winning the first set 7-6 before falling 6-7 in the second, but managed to finish 10-4 in the third.

Maggie Gehrig went head to head with No.3. and won 7-6 and 6-3 . Stevens took down No. 4 6-1,6-2 and Monti finished 6-2,6-1 over No.5. Valieriia Kornieva was victorious 6-1, 7-5 over No.6.

The Wildcats take on Loyola Maryland on Sunday at 12 p.m. before hosting Saint Joseph's on Wednesday for their home opener.
