EDISON, N.J. – After leading the team in both goals and exclusions drawn, with 13 goals and eight exclusions, respectively, across the three games of the MAAC-VMI Showcase,
Riley Hull has been named the MAAC Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
Between Hull,
Rachel Stephens, and
Layla Canales, the Class of 2029 has racked up five MAAC weekly awards so far in 2025.
This is the second time that the San Diego native has won this award during the 2025 campaign and she is the third freshman in program history to win a MAAC Rookie of the Week nod twice in a season.
At the MAAC-VMI Showcase, Hull recorded 13 goals, including two five-goal performances in a row in the first two games of the series against Mount St. Mary's and Siena.
In the 18-14 win against the Saints, she also added five exclusions, creating several opportunities for the 'Cats to reset their offense.
To wrap up the weekend, she recorded her third hat trick of the weekend against the host team in VMI, as Villanova cruised to a 20-10 win.
Hull went 5-1 on opening sprints, including winning four of her first five in the first two matches of the weekend.
