VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Villanova University men's tennis team fell to Xavier, 6-1, on Saturday (March 29 at the Villanova Tennis Complex.
In doubles,
Justin Frattarelli and
Will Monahan picked up a 7-5 win in the top flight.
Trey Fourticq and
Cooper Gordon defeated Alex Kotarski and Andrew Spurk, 6-3, claiming the doubles point for the Wildcats.
All but two of the Wildcats' singles flights fell in straight sets. After dropping the first set, 6-3,
Trey Fourticq battled back against Pascal Mosberger and claimed the second set, 5-7, but eventually lost the third set tiebreaker, 10-4.
Thomas Wakefield won the first set against Kyle Totorica but dropped the next two.
Up next, Villanova will face Saint Joseph's on Wednesday (April 2) at the Villanova Tennis Complex. The match will begin at 2:30 p.m.
