EDISON, N.J. – For the fourth time this season, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) named goalkeeper Gracin Kerry the Defensive Player of the Week for her performance in the Wildcats' weekend sweep over three conference opponents.

Kerry tied the program record of four career weekly awards, also held by current assistant coach Kaysie Stuba '22 and Dominique Clark '18.

The junior nabbed 35 saves across the undefeated weekend, which included wins over No. 22 Marist and RV Iona.

When facing off against the Red Foxes, the current leader of the MAAC Blue Division, Kerry recorded 11 saves, including two while a man down, helping VU to their second ranked win of the season.

In the contest against Iona, she saved a weekend-high 13 shots and also recorded two assists.

Against La Salle, in the final 13:22 of competition, Kerry did not allow a goal while recording seven of her 11 saves on the day, thwarting a comeback by the opposition. She only let in one goal in the second half.

Her 35 saves moved her into fourth in program history, passing Abigail Shelby '24 and Maddi Moore '14, for 470 career saves heading into the final regular season weekend of her junior season. She is also fourth all-time in goalie wins with 32 and will inevitably slide into second place over the next season, needing just four victories.

Kerry and the Villanova defense tied their second fewest number of goals given up this season with five. They also did that against Iona on January 25.

UP NEXT
Villanova will travel up to New York next weekend to close out the regular season. They will play against Wagner and at LIU in Brooklyn on April 12 and face off against the VMI Keydets to finish up conference play on April 13 on Wagner's campus.
