NEW YORK- Villanova women's tennis Sophia Edwards has been unanimously named All-BIG EAST First team, as announced on Thursday afternoon.

Edwards finished her season 12-6  in singles competition and 6-11 in Doubles play, holding down the No.1 slot in both for the 'Cats.

In Singles, she was able to take down three BIG EAST rivals. Seton Hall was the first conference victory for the graduate student, finishing 7-6,2-6,6-1. Marquette was next to fall with a final score of 6-0, 6-4, and DePaul 7-6,6-4.

For doubles, the Florida native went 6-2 over Seton Hall. She was also named BIG EAST Singles player of the week in April.
