NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Villanova golf will tee off at the SHU Fall Classic on October 12-13, the fourth tournament of the team's season. Sacred Heart will host their annual competition at Great River Golf Club in New Haven, Conn.
 
The Event
The SHU Fall Classic is a two-day event consisting of three rounds, totaling 54 holes. The first two rounds will be played on Monday, with play concluding with the third round on Tuesday. The competition will get underway Monday at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start. The 'Cats are one of 10 teams competing in the tournament. Each team will feature six golfers, with four counting to each round's score.
 
The Course
Great River Golf Club is the home site of Sacred Heart University's Men's & Women's Division I Golf teams. Sacred Heart purchased the club in 2015. The course features two unique nine-hole landscapes, with the front side weaving through lower tidal wetlands and the links-style back side sitting above the Housatonic River. Since the course opened for play in 2001, Great River Golf Club has hosted multiple USGA qualifying events, Intercollegiate events, and the LPGA's Epson Tour Hartford Healthcare Women's Championship.
 
Wildcats Lineup
Vibhav Alokam will start in the first spot for the second time this season after earning his first top ten finish of the fall tournament slate. The junior tied for ninth at the UConn Invitational, where he shot 147 (+4). He finished round one with a score of 76 (+4), and a second round score of 71 (-1) vaulted him 16 spots on the leaderboard to his finishing position of ninth.
 
Evan Rohde will tee off in the second spot. The freshman has become a mainstay in the lineup, and he further proved that by finishing as the number two Wildcat last tournament. Rohde finished 10 over par (154) at the UConn Invitational, shooting 78 (6) in round one and 76 (4) in round two. 
 
Luke Leonard shoots third Villanova. The sophomore has competed at every tournament so far, averaging 76.34 strokes per round.
 
Michael Block and AJ Colonna take the next two spots in the lineup. This tournament is the second competition for the two first-year Wildcat golfers. Block, shooting fourth, made his debut in the most recent tournament Villanova attended. The senior placed 47^th as an individual at the UConn Invitational, shooting 154 (+10). Colonna, shooting fifth, returns to the lineup after placing 67^th in his collegiate debut at The Goat.
 
Ian Love rounds out the lineup as the sixth Wildcat to tee off. This is the junior's third tournament of the season. He averages +4.83 across the six rounds he has played.
