LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The 2025-26 academic year was a successful one for Villanova volleyball as the Wildcats were chosen for the 2026 Team Academic Award by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

The 'Cats qualified for the honor from the AVCA by maintaining a year-long grade point average of at least 3.3. 

It marks the 16th straight year that Villanova has picked up the laurel, amid company of just 16 other Division I schools nationwide with that long a streak. 

VU is now a 20-time recipient of the accolade, one of less than 30 schools at the DI level to accomplish that.

The Wildcats will begin their 2026 campaign on the West Coast, taking part in the Asics Classic at Pepperdine in the final weekend of August.
