Villanova, Pa.-The Villanova Wildcats golf team finished tied for fifth with the University of Pennsylvania at the James Madison University Invitational in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The Wildcats shot and opening round 300 on Saturday, September 16th, and a second round 302 on Sunday, September 17th, for a two-day total of 602. St. John's University won the invitational with a two-round total of 584.

Leading the way for Villanova was senior Chris Ellis (Boulder, Colo./Fairview) with a first round 73 and second round 75. The total of 148 was good enough for Ellis to finish 12th overall in the two-day invitational. Senior Brian Hickey (Burr Ridge, Ill./Benet Academy) was the Wildcats second finisher, firing, two-day total of 148 (72/78), which was good enough for 24th.

Other scorers for Villanova were senior Nick Maselli (Fishkill, N.Y./John Jay) who placed 53rd with a 154 (77/77), senior Mike Spishock (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown) who finished 55th after shooting a 155 (83/72), and senior Garrett Feduke (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) who rounded out the scoring, finishing 73rd, after tallying a 159 (78/81).

The Wildcats are in action next at the Liberty University Invitational in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
