EASTON, MD - On April 20-21in the Scotty Duncan Memorial Invitational in Easton, Md., the Villanova University golf team shot a two-day 628 to finish in third place in the 15-team field. The third place finish was the Wildcats' top finish of the 2000-2001 season. All five Villanova golfers placed in the top 30, led by senior Chris Ellis who finished in a 10th place tie with a two-day score of 156 (76-80).
Iona College won the event with a score of 615, followed by Rutgers (616), Villanova (628), Loyola (630) and American (631) winding down the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Towson (634), Siena (638), Rider (642), Drexel (645), and Hofstra (646). Loyola's Ben Schubert won the individual crown with a score of 146 (76-70).
