Tonight is the final game the Wildcats will play on the parquet floor that has been in place since 1993-94. On Friday, Jan. 4, a new floor will be installed.

Villanova scored the first 11 points of the second half and opened the half on a 21-3 run to extend the lead to 57-38 (+19).

Villanova junior Ricky Wright recorded his third career double-double, his second this season, with 18 points and 13 rebounds. Wright also tied a career-high with three assists.

The Wildcats out-rebounded Providence 39-22, including a 21-8 advantage in the second half.

Villanova sophomore Derrick Snowden tied his season-high for assists in a game with six. His previous high was set against La Salle (11/27/01). Snowden added 14 points (4-7 FG).

Villanova senior Brooks Sales finished one rebound shy of a double-double with 13 points, nine rebounds.

With 17:43 left in the first half Villanova's Gary Buchanan missed his first free throw after making 25 straight. On the year Buchanan is 37-for-40 from the line.
