Tonight was the first ever meeting between Louisiana Tech and Villanova. With the win, Villanova improves to 13-3 at the Pavilion.

It was only the second time this season that Villanova had less than 10 turnovers. The Wildcats recorded only three turnovers in the game, a season-low.

Wildcat sophomore Derrick Snowden continued his success in the NIT with a 14-point performance on 5-for-9 shooting. In the Wildcats first round game against Manhattan, Snowden scored a career-high 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting. After the first two NIT games this year Snowden has 35 points (12-for-20 field goals).

Junior Gary Buchanan finished the night with 21 points scoring 20-plus in back-to-back NIT games. It was the 15th time this year Buchanan scored at least 20 points.

Villanova is now 12-2 when junior Reggie Bryant scores in double figures. Bryant finished the night with 10 points.

For Louisiana Tech, junior Antonio Meeking recorded his sixth double-double of the season.

It is the first time this season that the Bulldogs have held their opponents to under 70 points and lost. Louisiana Tech ends the year 19-1 when holding its opponents under 70 points.

Louisiana Tech had a season-low one steal versus Villanova. The previous low was two (at Centenary College, 1/30/02).
