NIT Final Results
TUCSON, Ariz. - The Villanova golf team wrapped up play at the NIT Invitational at the OMNI Tucson National Golf Club on Tuesday in 13th place out of 15 teams in the field. The Wildcats played the final round on the par-72, 7,094 yard Catalina Course and shot their best team round of the three-round event with a 296 (+8). As a team they finished with a 916 (+50). The weather conditions were far more forgiving during the final day of the tournament.
Junior Brian Colbert (Cary, Ill.) was the top finisher for the Wildcats in a tie for 41st place with a strong finishing 70 (-2) to go along with a 156 in the previous two rounds for a total of 226 (+12). Also finishing inside the top fifty was senior Conor Casey (Madison, N.J.) in a tie for 44th with a 227 (+13).
Tied for 69th and third for the Wildcats was sophomore Steve Skurla (Wheaton, Ill.) who finished with a 79-78-76--233 (+19). The final two were seniors Colin List (Boynton Beach, Fla.)(80-78-78--236;+22) and Brendan Kelly (Annapolis, Md.)(76-85-76--237;+23) in a tie for 78th and 82nd,respectively.
Tulsa won the team championship with an 867 (+11) while Arizona's Jonathan Khan held onto the individual crown with a 210 (-4).
