OKATIE, S.C. - The Villanova golf team shot 312 (+24) as a team on Monday to complete round two of three at the BIG EAST Men's Golf Championships at Callawassie Island Club in Okatie, S.C. Through two rounds, the Wildcats have a collective score of 628 (+52) and sit in ninth place.

Freshman Will Byrne turned it around on Monday, posting a 76 (+4) to lead Villanova. Byrne went even on the back nine and four-over on the front due to an outlier on the par 4, No. 7. Byrne stands at 163 (+19) with one round left to play tomorrow.

Fellow freshman Zach Egermayer shot 77 (+5) for the Wildcats on Tuesday. Egermayer went four-over on the front and one-over on the back with a total of three birdies and 10 pars. After two rounds, the Glen Rock, New Jersey native is one of three Wildcats tied at 157 (+13) to lead the squad.

Sophomore Lucas Trim carded a round two score of 79 (+7). The sophomore from Tampa, Florida owns score of 157 (+13) through day two.

Junior Luke Waggoner shot 80 (+8) on Monday to round out the top-four Villanova scorers. Through two rounds, the Crystal Lake, Illinois native has a score of 157 (+13).

Freshman Andy Butler finished with a score of 83 (+11) in round two which amounts to a two-day total of 164 (+20).

DePaul and Xavier still sit one and two in the tournament at 593 (+17) and 599 (+23), respectively. Marquette moved up one spot to third at 601 (+25) while Seton Hall gained three spots, now up to fourth (604, +28).

Georgetown dropped three positions down to fifth at 608 (+32). Butler moved up as well to sit alone in sixth (611, +35).

Creighton (615, +39), St. John's (617, +41) and Villanova (628, +52) round out the field.

The tournament concludes tomorrow, Tuesday, April 28 with round three. Play is set to begin at 8 a.m.
