Villanova, Pa. – Villanova volleyball has announced two more additions to the 2020 recruiting class. Incoming freshman Andrea Campos and Taryn Whittingham will join the team in 2020.
Andrea Campos | Pacific Palisades, Calif. | Archer School for Girls
Campos, a 5'8" setter, will look to help fill the void left by
Emma Decker at the position. Campos played both indoor and beach volleyball in high school as well as ran track. Campos was named the volleyball team MVP in 2019 and named to the Viewpoint Tournament All-tournament team in 2018 and 2019.
Campos played for Actyve Volleyball for six years during her club career, and received the Director's Award in 2017 and the Coaches Award in 2018.
Andrea is the daughter of Jorge and Marcy Campos, and has two younger siblings, Kai and Karys. Her father was the goalie for the Mexican National Soccer Team from 1988-2004.
Campos chose Villanova because, "I loved the culture and atmosphere right when I stepped on campus. I also loved the support Villanova has for student-athletes and how many opportunities are available for students."

Taryn Whittingham | Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif. | Santa Margarita Catholic High School
Whittingham, a libero, enters in a similar spot, looking to help replace senior libero
Regan Lough. Whittingham put together a decorated high school career, winning the California Division 1 State Championship in 2017, was named first-team all-league in 2018 and 2019, and was CIF first-team and Orange County Select third-team in 2019.
Whittingham posted 502 total digs her junior year and 488 her senior year, with a career high of 43 coming in 2018.
Whittingham played for Laguna Beach Volleyball Club for 10 years and took first place in the National Division at JO's in 2019.
Whittingham is the daughter of Peter and Tory and has two siblings, a sister Taylor and a brother Trevor. Taylor played Libero at the University of Southern California from 2013-2016.
Whittingham chose Villanova because, "of how welcomed I felt by the team, the coaching style, the campus atmosphere, tough academics and beautiful campus."
