NEW YORK – Two Wildcats received BIG EAST Weekly Honors for their play during a 2-1 weekend at the Snowbird Classic in Port Charlotte, Fla. Lucas Latrenta was named the BIG EAST Player of the Week and Gordon Graceffo was tabbed to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for the second straight week.
 
They are the first pair of Villanova teammates to win weekly awards in the same week since Donovan May and Jonathan Rosaro on April 17, 2017.
 
After being inserted into the lineup a week ago, Latrenta had a breakout weekend, hitting .455 with a pair of home runs. He recorded at least one hit and one RBI in all three games, and posted six RBIs during the weekend. Thanks to a pair of walks as well, he racked up an OPS of 1.538 during the weekend.
 
Latrenta is the first Wildcat to win BIG EAST Player of the Week since Todd Czinege did so twice in 2015. Latrenta is the second Wildcat freshman to win a weekly award this season after Danny Wilkinson won Pitcher of the Week on opening weekend.
 
Graceffo received another Honor Roll nod after his second consecutive quality start en route to his third win of the season. He worked 7.2 innings of one run baseball while issuing only one walk and striking out three. The sophomore held Eastern Michigan Scoreless through seven before allowing his lone run in the eighth. His stellar performance lowered his season ERA to just 1.42 for the year.
 
Graceffo has already matched his total number of Honor Roll awards from last season.
