The Wildcats offense was slow out of the gate only picking up two hits through six innings. Villanova would strike for three runs with two outs in the seventh inning and take the lead. A single up the middle by

John Whooley to even the score.

In the top of the ninth inning, Villanova would rally again with two outs and score four runs on four hits and put the game out of reach.
