Box Score PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. – Game two of the weekend series saw a pitcher's duel between Villanova's Tyler Arella (East Northport, N.Y.) and Georgetown's Carter Bosch with Arella ousting the Hoyas 4-0. The graduate student picked up his eighth start of the season and tossed a career-high eight scoreless innings while surrendering three hits and striking out eight Hoyas.
 
Following a clean top of the first inning, the Wildcats would strike quickly after Nick Lorusso (Monroe, Conn.) drew a one-out walk and Ryan Toohers (Florham Park, N.J.) smacked a double into right center scoring Lorusso and advancing to third on the throw home. Jack O'Reilly (Villanova, Pa.) would hit a chopper to third base and Toohers got a great jump and scored easily to extend the lead to 2-0.
 
With a slim lead, Arella commanded the zone and trusted his defense by inducing weak contact. Through five innings, the southpaw only allowed two balls to leave the infield while everything else was either a strikeout or weak groundout. Two of the three hits allowed by Arella were infield singles to the right side.
 
The Wildcats would strike again in the bottom of the eighth by adding two insurance runs. Chris Rotondo would rip a one-out double down the left field line before Nick Lorusso singled into left field scoring Rotondo. Chris Rotondo now has a hit in six of his last seven games. Later in the inning, Jack O'Reilly would send a single into left field scoring Lorusso and the Wildcats never looked back.
 
Villanova would turn it over to Danny Wilkinson (Scotch Plains, N.J.) in the ninth to close the game. Despite allowing two singles in the frame, the sophomore remained confident and picked up two strikeouts to seal the game. The clean inning was Wilkinson's 14^th appearance on the season.
 
Five different Wildcats tallied a base hit on the afternoon while Jack O'Reilly produced two RBI's. With the victory, Tyler Arella notched his second win of the season and lowered his earned run average to 3.40. Villanova has now won three consecutive games and holds a 17-11 overall record and 5-9 conference record.
 
Georgetown received an impressive start from Carter Bosch throwing seven innings, allowing two runs, two walks, and striking out 10. Eddie McCabe led the Hoyas offensively with two hits on the afternoon. Georgetown falls to 4-16 overall and 4-12 in conference play.
