Patten pending: Cole Patten was electric in his second start of the season Saturday against The Citadel. The Seton Hall transfer tossed eight innings of one-run ball, allowed two hits and fanned six batters to earn his first win as a Wildcat. Patten is currently sporting a 0.57 ERA with just one earned run allowed through 15 and 2/3 innings pitched with 12 strikeouts.

Joey hits: Joey Castellanos collected hits like they were infinity stones this past weekend. The UMass-Lowell transfer had a 6-for-13 effort and drove in three runs. His best day came on Saturday when Castellanos went 4-for-5 with an RBI. In his first six games, Castellanos is hitting .333 with five runs batted in.

Slight chance of Hale: Connor Hale has made a habit of getting on base this season. The freshman has started all six games and reached base safely in five of those six, leading the team in on-base percentage (.471). Hale is also tied for first on the team in walks (4) and ranks third in runs scored (5).
