VILLANOVA, Pa.-After their weekend series in Charleston, the Wildcats will make the short 17-mile trek to Charleston Southern's campus for a midweek matchup on Wednesday, March 2. This will be the fourth time in program history that Villanova faces off with Charleston Southern. First pitch is at 5:00 p.m. The game will be broadcasted on ESPN+ and fans can also follow the game via live stats.

Patten pending: Cole Patten was electric in his second start of the season Saturday against The Citadel. The Seton Hall transfer tossed eight innings of one-run ball, allowed two hits and fanned six batters to earn his first win as a Wildcat. Patten is currently sporting a 0.57 ERA with just one earned run allowed through 15 and 2/3 innings pitched with 12 strikeouts.
Joey hits: Joey Castellanos collected hits like they were infinity stones this past weekend. The UMass-Lowell transfer had a 6-for-13 effort and drove in three runs. His best day came on Saturday when Castellanos went 4-for-5 with an RBI. In his first six games, Castellanos is hitting .333 with five runs batted in.
Slight chance of Hale: Connor Hale has made a habit of getting on base this season. The freshman has started all six games and reached base safely in five of those six, leading the team in on-base percentage (.471). Hale is also tied for first on the team in walks (4) and ranks third in runs scored (5).
