Baseball home opener moved to Tuesday, March 8

VILLANOVA, Pa.- Due to the Wednesday's weather forecast, Villanova's home opener has been moved up to Tuesday, March 8 with first pitch at 2:30 P.M.

Patten pending: Cole Patten continues to impress for the Wildcats. The senior from Manasquan, New Jersey tossed five innings of one-run ball with nine strikeouts.  In 20 and 2/3 innings, Patten has allowed just two earned runs on 13 hits and struck out 21 batters. The Seton Hall transfer's current ERA is a miniscule 0.87.
 
The streak lives on: Chris Rotondo extended his hitting streak to nine games after belting a leadoff homer against Georgia State Sunday. The outfielder is hitting .282 with three homers and nine runs batted in through 10 games this season.
