Wildcats Host Hawks For Weekday Matchup

VILLANOVA– Villanova begins a seven-game homestand on Tuesday with a weekday game against Saint Joseph's.  The game is scheduled for 3:00 pm at Villanova Ballpark.

Last Time Out: Villanova was on the road in Storrs, Connecticut for a weekend series against UConn.  The Wildcats came back from a 8-1 deficit on Sunday, but lost the game on a walk off home run that gave UConn the sweep of the series.
 
Big 5 Battle: Villanova holds the record over Saint Joseph's at 97-64-4.  The game Tuesday will be the first matchup between the two this season with a game at Saint Joseph's to follow on May 14th. The two programs have done a home and home series over the past few years. In last year's series, both teams took their home game.
 
Have A Day Hassert: On Sunday Cam Hassert helped spark the comeback for Villanova. The senior went 3-4 at the plate with a walk.  Of those three hits came a solo home run in the seventh inning followed by a two-RBI single in the eighth. 
 
Honing in on the Hawks
  • Saint Joseph's is 17-22 on the season and sits tied for eighth in the A10 standings.
  • The Hawks are coming off a 10-9 loss on the road at UMass this past Sunday.
  • Conlan Wall has been a consistent hitter for Saint Joseph's.  The senior has been great at getting on base as he leads the A10 in base on balls and second in on base percentage.
