Never E-Neff
Catcher Jason Neff has been off to a blistering hot start to his sixth season of collegiate baseball. The West Palm Beach, Fla., native has career- and team-bests in batting average (.478), on-base percentage (.600) and slugging percentage (1.043) through seven games. As of Wednesday (Feb. 26), those figures each rank in the top 60 nationally, with his slugging percentage ranked 15th in Division I. He has hit three home runs and drove in 11 RBI on the season, spearheading a productive start for the Wildcat offense.

Whooley Mammoths
After hitting a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth inning on Tuesday's (Feb. 25) win over Coppin State, Junior Michael Whooley now has hit a long ball in three straight games. This is the first time a Wildcat has homered in three straight games since Dan Terpak in 2008. Despite only having six career home runs heading into the season, Whooley already has three through seven games in 2025.

Superb Starters
Starting pitchers Bobby Olsen and Luke McCollough have each been excellent for Villanova so far. In 24.1 innings combined, the two have only given up six earned runs while striking out 18.

Lipscomb at a Glance
The Bisons currently have a 2-6 record and come into Friday's game on a five-game losing streak after getting swept by West Virginia over the weekend (Feb. 21-23) and falling to Belmont on Tuesday (Feb. 25). Lipscomb is led by Damion Kenealy Jr., who has three home runs and six RBI. On the mound, Lyne Turner has shined with a 1.04 ERA and 1.27 WHIP through two starts and 8.2 innings.
