PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. — The Villanova baseball team returns home this weekend to host UNC Asheville for a three-game series at the Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth Meeting. The series begins Friday, March 20, with first pitch set for 3:05 p.m., and concludes on Sunday, March 22.

LAST TIME OUT
Villanova is coming off a road series at Charleston Southern where the Wildcats claimed two of three games.
- The Wildcats opened the weekend with a 5-4 victory. Carter Richey drove in two early runs before a three-run fifth inning—highlighted by RBIs from Austin Lemon and Michael Whooley—secured the win.
- In game two, Jack Kelley delivered a dominant performance, tossing six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts while allowing just two hits. The offense backed him with five runs, with RBIs from Lemon, Whooley, Collin Quintano, and Brayden Leonard.
- The 5-0 win marked Villanova's second combined shutout of the season, with Bobby Finn closing out the game in relief.
- Charleston Southern salvaged the finale, scoring 22 runs in a 22-4 decision. Quintano led Villanova offensively with a home run and a double, accounting for two RBIs.
VILLANOVA AS OF LATE
The Wildcats have found their rhythm, winning four of their last five games, including a four-game win streak prior to the series finale loss.
- Michael Whooley paced the offense last week with five hits and five RBIs. He now leads the team in RBIs and is tied for the team lead in hits (18) alongside Brayden Leonard.
- Brayden Leonard collected seven hits across four games, including a three-hit performance in the home opener against La Salle. He leads the team with a .317 batting average.
- Collin Quintano continues to provide power, hitting his team-leading fifth home run of the season over the weekend. He finished just a triple shy of the cycle in Saturday's game.

Jack Kelley turned in one of the top outings of the season last weekend, throwing six shutout innings with seven strikeouts and only two hits allowed in Villanova's 5-0 win.

UNC Asheville enters the series with an 11-10 record following a loss to Presbyterian.
