LAST TIME OUT
Villanova enters Tuesday's contest after earning its first BIG EAST win of the season with an 11-6 victory at Seton Hall. The Wildcats moved to 13-25 overall, taking the finale after dropping the first two games of the series.

Seton Hall opened the weekend with a 9-3 win on Friday. The game remained close early before the Pirates used four combined runs in the third and fourth innings to pull away. Senior Collin Quintano paced Villanova offensively with two hits and a pair of RBI.

Due to inclement weather, the final two games were played as a Sunday doubleheader, with the opener shortened to seven innings. In game one, sophomore JoJo Montgomery led off with a first-pitch home run to give Villanova an early spark. Seton Hall answered in the second inning, and the game remained tied until the bottom of the sixth, when a squeeze bunt brought home the go-ahead run in a 3-2 Pirates win.

Villanova bounced back in the series finale with an 11-6 victory. Montgomery continued his strong performance, driving in two runs in the first inning. Trailing 4-2 in the sixth, the Wildcats responded with a three-run frame to take the lead for good, highlighted by a two-run homer from redshirt sophomore Mark Gialluisi. Montgomery added two more RBI in the seventh, and Quintano provided insurance with a two-run homer in the eighth—his eighth of the season.
