LAST TIME OUT
Villanova enters the final series of the regular season after hosting St. John's in its final home series of the year. The Wildcats avoided a sweep by capturing the series finale after dropping the first two contests.

On Friday, the Red Storm struck first with a run in the second inning before adding three more in the third to build a 4-0 advantage. Villanova got on the board in the fourth when freshman Larry Hotaling doubled home sophomore Austin Lemon. St. John's added a run in each of the fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth innings to secure an 8-1 win in the series opener.

Saturday's matchup turned into a pitchers' duel. Graduate student Jack Kelley delivered a season-high seven innings while allowing just one run. Kelley kept the Red Storm off the scoreboard through the first six innings before St. John's broke through with an RBI single in the seventh. A two-run homer in the ninth sealed a 3-0 win for the Red Storm and clinched the series.

The Wildcats bounced back on Sunday to earn a Senior Day victory and avoid the sweep. Villanova jumped ahead early with a three-run first inning. Senior Collin Quintano drove in two runs with a single before a Mark Gialluisi infield single gave the Wildcats a 3-0 lead they would never relinquish. Graduate student Carter Richey paced the offense with three RBIs, while graduate student Will Parkinson tossed four scoreless innings in relief. The Columbia College transfer retired nine consecutive batters at one point during his outing.
