VILLANOVA, Pa. –   Nine teams suited up for action during the final full week of September. Men's Tennis opened their season at the Lehigh Invitational, and Women's Tennis continued theirs at Navy. Both Men's and Women's Soccer each added one to their win column, as did Field Hockey. Men's Cross Country fielded a full team for the first time this season at the Meadows Challenge and came away with a third-place finish to show for it. Men's Cross Country
Bailey Habler
Senior/Sydney, Australia

Habler was Villanova's top runner in the Wildcats' third place finish at the Meadows Challenge. The Aussie ran 23:18.6 in his first 8k of the season, which was just 12 seconds short of his personal best. Habler placed fifth in the field of 162 athletes.

Tilly O'Connor
Senior/Spring Lake, N.J.
Â
O'Connor led the Wildcats to an 11th place finish at the Meadows Challenge. The senior has been the Wildcats' top finisher in five consecutive starts dating to last season. She ran 20:01.8 in her season debut, finishing ninth overall.

Molly Zimmerman
Junior/Back/Landisburg, Pa.
Â
Zimmerman was Villanova's points leader in the 4-1 win over Temple. She picked up an assist on Katharina Balks' goal in the second quarter, giving the Wildcats a lead they would not relinquish. Just 1:55 into the third period, Maeve Boston found Gemma Lysaght on a penalty corner, who set up Zimmerman for her first goal of the season.

Braden Reed
Sophomore/Wide Receiver/Pottstown, Pa.

Reed earned his first career 100-yard game against Colgate this weekend, as he finished with six catches for exactly 100 yards. He caught the first touchdown on the game to cap off the opening drive on a 17-yard
Pass from Pat McQuaide. Late in the third quarter with Villanova trailing, Reed caught a ball and moved up-field for a season-high 35-yard reception, which led to a Villanova score on the following play.
Men's Soccer
Luke Martelli
Redshirt Junior/Midfield/Kinzers, Pa.

Martelli had a team-high three points this week with a goal and an assist in Villanova's 4-2 win over Drexel. Both of his points came in the 52nd minute on back-to-back Wildcat goals to acquire and extend the lead. The go-ahead goal came at 51:09, when Martelli received a redirected ball from Sam Nyenka and sent it in the back of the net. Just 29 seconds later, Martelli found Maximos Chrisafinas for his first collegiate goal, giving Villanova the 3-1 lead. Martelli's performance earned him the Soccer Six Player of the Week.

Morgan Kotch
Junior/Forward/Yardville, N.J.

Kotch assisted on both of Villanova's goals in the 2-0 win over St. John's. Her first assist came in the 27
th minute, where despite being heavily defended, she sent a pass to an open Gabby Koluch to send a one-timer into the goal. In the 67
th minute Kotch retrieved a long pass from Meredith Palmer and passed it to Dez Zapata, who knocked the ball past the opposing goalkeeper.

Men's Tennis
Jack Sherner
Junior/Alexandria, Va.
Â
Sherner went undefeated in singles play at the Lehigh Invite. He won 8-6 in a battle against Temple's Joao Bento Carqueija and dominated Lehigh's Henry Stoller to win 8-1. He also competed in two doubles matches, winning three sets with Evan Ancu against Lafayette and three sets with Ethan Carr against Lehigh.

Olivia Corcoran
Junior/Cary, N.C.

Corcoran reached the semifinals in Flight A Singles action at the Navy Invitational, winning two matches to get there. Her first win came over Peyton Amspacher-Philemon of Navy in the round of 16 in a three-set grudge match. She took the first set 7-5, fell 3-6 in the second set, and won 11-9 in the final set to advance. She took the win over Francesca Davis of William & Mary in the quarterfinals in straight sets, winning 6-2 and 6-1.

Campbell McKinnon
Junior/Middle Blocker/Collierville, Tenn.
Â
McKinnon continued her dominant season with a career-best weekend. She paced the Wildcats in kills, aces, and blocks over the two matches. She totaled nine kills and seven blocks against Butler, both team-highs. McKinnon led the Vilanova offense against Xavier, posting a career-high 23 kills while achieving season-highs of two aces, three assists, and eight digs.
