Baseball Unveils 2022 Schedule

Wildcats begin play February 18, host first game on March 9

VILLANOVA, Pa.-The Villanova baseball team released their schedule for the 2022 season which includes 17 games at the Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth. The Wildcats are coming off a 21-14 (9-12 BIG EAST) season and had two pitchers selected in the 2021 MLB Draft. Gordon Graceffo was drafted in the fifth round by the St. Louis Cardinals and Jimmy Kingsbury was drafted in the 17th round by the Seattle Mariners.

Villanova will begin their 2022 season on February 18 with a trip to Malibu, California to take on Pepperdine University in a three-game series.

The Wildcats will continue their road trip and cross over to the east coast for a three-game series against The Citadel from February 25-27.  Villanova will then make the short 21-mile drive to take on Charleston Southern for one game on March 2.

Villanova will finish out their road trip and head south to Fulton County to take on Georgia State in a three-game weekend series from March 4-6.

The Wildcats finally return to Plymouth for their home opener against Lafayette on March 9. Villanova will stay home and host NJIT for a weekend series from March 11-13.

After the series against the Highlanders, Villanova will take on main line opponent St. Joe's on the road on March 15.

Villanova will head south to New Orleans and face off with Tulane for a weekend series from March 18-20.

The Wildcats will extend their road trip with a three-game series against Richmond from March 25-27.

Villanova will compete in their first game of the Liberty Bell Classic with a road game against Delaware State on March 29.

Conference play kicks off for the Wildcats with a series on the road against Georgetown from April 1-3.  After a series in the nation's capital, Villanova will compete in their second game of the Liberty Bell Classic at home against the winner of Lafayette/Penn on April 5.

The Wildcats will host their first BIG EAST opponent, Butler, for a weekend series from April 8-10. Villanova will also match up with Bucknell at home for one game on April 12.

Villanova will head to Cincinnati for a three-game series against Xavier from April 14-16. After the road trip, the Wildcats will either play a road game against Rider or compete in the Liberty Bell Championship.

The Wildcats will travel to Storrs for a three-game series against UConn from April 22-24. Villanova will then play Wagner College for one game in Staten Island on April 26.
Villanova returns home for a weekend series against St. John's from April 29-May 1. The Wildcats will host St. Joe's for a game on May 4.

The Wildcats will take on the Virginia Tech of the ACC for a two-game road series from May 7-8. Villanova will stay on the road and play a game against Monmouth on May 10.
Villanova will stay in the Garden State and play conference foe Seton Hall in a weekend series from May 13-15.

The Wildcats will stay home for the remainder of the regular season with two opponents. After a game against Fordham on May 17, Villanova will close their regular season against Creighton in a three-game home series.

This year, the Big East Baseball Championship Tournament is set to be played at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio on May 26-29.
