NEW YORK—Competition wrapped up at the Columbia Challenge with Villanova competing in two individual events and the 4x400 meter relay at The Armory on Saturday afternoon. The event schedule for the Wildcats included the 200 meters and the 400 meters in addition to the relay.
Sophomore sprinter
Nicholas Mollica (Jackson, N.J.) led a trio of Villanova athletes in the 400 meters and posted a time of 49.94 to finish second in his heat. Mollica and fellow sophomore
Jakob Kunzer (George Town, Grand Cayman) ran in the same heat and came in third in 50.46. In the fourth heat, junior
Mac Costonis (Lower Gwynedd, Pa.) came in fifth with a time of 51.28.
Later in the afternoon senior
Richie Bush (Lawnside, N.J.) ran in the 200 meters and recorded a time of 22.63. He also led off the 4x400 relay for the Wildcats as a lineup of Bush, graduate
Jacob Bonanotte (Arlington Heights, Ill.), Mollica and senior
Trevor Potts (Sparta, N.J.) registered a time of 3:24.04. Mollica had the fastest of the team's splits on the day with a time of 50.12 on the third leg of the race.
