Villanova Athletics is proud to present the Villanova P.A.W.S program: Providing Athletes With Support. The P.A.W.S. program helps to ensure the best quality experience for Villanova student-athletes, both in the classroom and on the playing fields. Wildcat student-athletes represent the best in athletic and academic achievements, and Villanova is proud to recognize these student leaders.
This week's P.A.W.S. honors go to Wildcat senior Rob Cafiero, a baseball standout and management major from Massapequa Park, N.Y., and Massapequa High School. This past week, Rob broke the Villanova baseball career records for runs batted in and doubles. With a third inning RBI in game one against Pittsburgh on April 27, Cafiero broke the career RBI record of 183 held by former Wildcat All-America and Major Leaguer Gary Scott (1987-89). Rob also broke the career record for doubles (58) held by 2001 graduate Matt Longo. For the season, Cafiero is tops on the Villanova team in batting average (.373), doubles (18), home runs (13), total bases (117) and RBI (43).
We congratulate Rob on his achievements, and proudly support the Villanova P.A.W.S. program. For additional information regarding P.A.W.S., contact Villanova University at (610) 519-4605.
