Villanova Athletics is proud to present the Villanova P.A.W.S program: Providing Athletes With Support. The P.A.W.S. program helps to ensure the best quality experience for Villanova student-athletes, both in the classroom and on the playing fields. Wildcat student-athletes represent the best in athletic and academic achievements, and Villanova is proud to recognize these student leaders.
This week's P.A.W.S. honors go to the Wildcat's Katie Davis, a senior women's basketball standout from Northeast, Md., and Northeast High School. On Tuesday, Jan. 7, Katie scored a game-high 26 points on eight-of-11 shooting in a 62-60 win over Virginia Tech. Thus far this in 2002-03, she is averaging a team-high 17.7 points per game for the 22nd ranked Wildcats. Davis is currently shooting 55.6 percent from the floor, 45.9 percent from three-point range and 89.3 percent from the foul line, in addition to grabbing 3.0 rebounds per contest. Villanova is 11-1 through its first 12 games, and will resume play on Saturday, Jan. 11, traveling to Morgantown, W.V., to take on the West Virginia Mountaineers at Noon.
We congratulate Katie on her achievements, and proudly support the Villanova P.A.W.S. program. For additional information regarding P.A.W.S., contact Villanova University at (610) 519-4605.
