A two-way player on offense and defense during his collegiate career, Andy Chisick went from Villanova to the NFL where he played for the Chicago Cardinals and later to the United States Marine Corps where he was during World War II. He was a member of the Wildcats varsity squad from 1937-39 and is a 1940 Villanova graduate. Chisick was inducted to the Varsity Club Hall of Fame in 1985.
 
During his collegiate career Chisick was known as a “60 minute player” for playing on both offense and defense. Villanova was 22-2-2 (.885) during his varsity career which spanned the program’s record 22-game unbeaten streak (19-0-3) which began in 1936 and included back-to-back undefeated seasons of 8-0-1 in 1937 and 1938 under Hall of Fame coach Maurice “Clipper” Smith.
 
At the start of his collegiate career Chisick was a member of the freshman football team and the freshman basketball team. He went on to play one year of varsity basketball in addition to participating in intramurals and being a member of the North Jersey Club in all four of his years on campus. Chisick earned a degree in Economics.
 
In the 1940 NFL Draft, Chisick was selected by the Chicago Cardinals with the 51st overall pick in the seventh round. He played in 22 games with six starts for the Cardinals during the 1940 and 1941 NFL seasons, and was credited with one career interception.
 
Chisick joined the Marines in February 1942 and participated in four major battles in the Solomon Islands campaign during World War II, including the Battle of Cape Gloucester. He passed away on March 13, 1986 at the age of 69.
